Squawks and maintenance

Squawks that reach the people who need to know

Pilots file squawks from their phone. Maintenance gets a ticket. Booked pilots get an email. Critical items ground the plane.

From the ramp to the schedule

In TailSlot the squawk and the schedule are the same record, so nobody runs a second system.

  1. File a squawk in under a minute. Tail number, what's wrong, a photo, minor or critical.
  2. A ticket for your maintenance crew. Maintenance works it; the maintenance manager defers it or returns the plane to service.
  3. Automatic grounding. Mark it critical and the aircraft comes off the schedule until maintenance clears it.
  4. Emails to everyone booked on the plane. Minor or critical, everyone with that aircraft booked in the next X hours gets an email. You choose X.

Inspection program

Annual, 100-hour (with the 10-hour tolerance), ELT, transponder, altimeter/static, VOR check, oil changes and ADs per aircraft. An overdue grounding item takes the plane off the schedule.

Work orders

WO numbers, tasks, a labor timer for mechanics on the ramp, parts from inventory, and an out-of-service window that flags affected bookings.

Sign-off and logbook entry

A&P or IA signs with their certificate number and a PIN. TailSlot prints the return-to-service entry (43.9/43.11) and keeps a tamper-evident copy.

See what's coming

Hours to the next 100-hour and annual sit next to each aircraft. TailSlot adds up the booked hours to show which flights the inspection will hit, so you can plan downtime before it's forced on you.
